I figured I'd be back some day but didn't expect it to be so soon. After much soul searching in Alaska, I decided that I would really like to be closer to friends and family. I also have a much greater appreciation of what the Northern Virginia area has to offer. I'll never think of this place as boring again.
While summers in Alaska were great, the winters were kinda tough. Not so much because of the cold and snow, but because of the rain and darkness. First winter sucked, so I thought about leaving. Then summer came around again and I thought about staying. Then winter started and by December I was ready to go. Luckily I found a job right smack where I wanted to be, and I have just spent two weeks traveling from Alaska to Virginia. (See http://dancingnomad3-alaska11.blogspot.com/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/dancingnomad3/sets/72157629196952404/.) I still have a bit to do before settling in, but I am really glad to be 'home' again. Also, I never thought I'd feel this way, but I am sick of moving. This is it. I'm done moving. At least while Millie is alive.
Anyway, as of today, I am going to pick this blog back up again. There's usually nothing that's too interesting for others, but this is my way of remembering my life. Hopefully I'll keep living an interesting one.
